Zekelman Industries Announces Executive Promotions
CHICAGO (February 3, 2015) — Zekelman Industries, North America’s largest independent steel pipe and tube manufacturer, announced today the promotion of two executives: Jelani Rucker to vice president of marketing and business development and Jeff Shulman to vice president of logistics.
Rucker has served as Zekelman Industries’ director of marketing and business development for over eight years. He will continue to be responsible for developing and managing marketing initiatives across the company’s entire product portfolio, as well as developing new business opportunities and strategic relationships with companies in current and emerging markets. Rucker holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering and a master’s degree in technical management, both from Johns Hopkins University.
“Jelani is an important asset to our organization, and we’re thrilled to promote him to this role,” said David Seeger, president of JMC. “He has made considerable progress in positioning Zekelman Industries within new levels of the supply chain for our structural, electrical and pipe products and has been instrumental in strengthening our working relationship with the city of Chicago.”
Shulman has been in a logistics role at Zekelman Industries for more than nine years. With his promotion, he is now responsible for the development and implementation of logistics strategy with Zekelman Industries’ key carriers. Shulman possesses an honors bachelor’s degree in communications from McMaster University.
“We are very pleased to see Jeff step into this new role, as he has already made significant strides in ensuring that our business units and key carriers are aligned for mutual success,” said Seeger. “I am confident Jeff will continue to make progress in these strategic relationships, enabling our company to reduce our freight cost and boost the bottom line.”
