About the Role 

Zekelman Industries is seeking skilled trades professionals to support our manufacturing operations across North America. We are actively building a talent pipeline for experienced Millwrights, Industrial Electricians, Maintenance Technicians, and PLC/Controls Technicians who are passionate about safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. 

Our skilled trades teams play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the equipment that powers our manufacturing facilities. These positions are essential to maximizing equipment uptime, product quality, and operational performance while supporting a safe and productive work environment.   

What You’ll Do 

Depending on your trade specialization, responsibilities may include: 

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production systems 
  • Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities 
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues 
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, drives, and control systems 
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, electrical prints, and technical manuals 
  • Supporting equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities 
  • Following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and OSHA standards 
  • Collaborating with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability 
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment   

Who You Are

  • Experience as a Millwright, Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Technician, PLC/Controls Technician, or a related skilled trade 
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting abilities 
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy production environment preferred 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation 
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures 
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills 
  • Trade certification, apprenticeship training, military experience, technical education, or equivalent experience is preferred
