Maintenance Electrical Technician

Wheatland Tube, a Zekelman company, is seeking maintenance electrical technicians at our facility in Warren, OH. This is a great opportunity for candidates who have industrial maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing/light industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and enforce a safe, healthy work environment and work practices in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies and procedures such as LOTO & Arc Flash.
• Perform reactive, preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment. Identify necessary parts and materials per specifications. Perform periodic testing of equipment.
• Diagnose and communicate root causes of electrical malfunctions and develop corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices using proper tools, procedures and documentation.
• Understand and troubleshoot machine network infrastructure and PLC systems.
• Work with medium and low voltage (480-24 Volts) equipment, power distribution systems, instrumentation systems and equipment controls.
• Display a positive attitude toward your work and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Read, understand and complete work orders and other paperwork related to your duties.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Degree, diploma or documented training in an electrical field from an accredited college or trade school required.
• Minimum 5 years direct work experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing plant including PLC, VFDs, DF Drives and induction heating units preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers and HMI devices preferred. Prior experience with ladder logic and editing a plus.
• Prior tube and/or heavy manufacturing experience preferred.

Multi-craft Maintenance Technician

Sharon Tube, a Zekelman company, is seeking multi-craft maintenance technicians at our facility in Niles, OH. Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, this bargaining unit position is responsible for the safe repari and rebuild of tube mill production equipment to maximize quality, up time, rate and yield. Requires high aptitude regarding electrical ability, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in order to diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues.

Requirements:

• Perform maintenance in all areas of the plant including industrial electrical control systems, power systems, AC and DC electronic speed control drives, gearbox and mill rebuilds, annealing furnace repair, mechanical troubleshooting and crane repair.
• Troubleshooting of programmable logic controls, motors drives and relays.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical electrical equipment which includes ordering electrical parts per specifications.
• Adhere to safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies and procedures such as LOTO & Arc Flash.
• Prepare various reports.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Wheatland Tube, a Zekelman company, has an immediate opening for a millwright at our facility in Wheatland, PA. This person is responsible for ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Responsibilities:

• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; and examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straight edges.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs welding repairs when needed.
• Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; and verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

• Job related testing is required and must be able to successfully pass an employment physical and drug screen.
